This is the first painting I have done on a new fabric that I ordered, a fabric that when it arrived seemed too thin and too thin to do anything serious with… But I finally put my apprehensions aside and started this painting. I quickly noticed that as a result of the “very fine grain” of the fabric, I could work with acrylic in a very different way; much freer, looser, with very thin washes that looked good and premium mixes that worked…
It took me a while to get used to it, but when I made a small section of the painting, one where I felt like I had “understood” this fabric, I decided to throw away everything I had so far and start the painting again, from scratch. That is, now you are seeing version 2.0 of the box.
And the further I progressed I was still understanding what things I could do and how to do them and I really want to keep trying. Maybe, to live up to the name, I should have started a third version… but I already thought of a new painting and I already want to start it.
